Fall Fashion Re-Vamp
Posted: Oct 29 2015
As the the days get chillier and sweater season comes upon us, it is only natural to crave a change in wardrobe. Yes, our favorite boots and scarves from last season will do, but with autumn comes new trends and styles to add to your looks. The key to staying on a budget - and on-trend - is as simple as taking some of your summer pieces and mixing them with fall staples.
One of our favorite ways to do this is taking a summer dress in a darker color like navy or grey and adding a white button down blouse underneath. This outfit is perfect for the office and such a simple addition to the dress makes for a totally different look.
Make sure to accessorize subtly; you don’t want your necklace or earrings to weigh you down on top of the layering. We took our Fiore dress in grey and layered it over a white blouse. The contrast of colors made for the perfect fall palette and the sleeves from the blouse gave us the coverage we needed for the weather without having to bring a sweater along. (You can also try this look with the Beatrix dress.)
Another great wardrobe tweak is taking a look at your summer dresses that provide a bit more coverage than others, we love a 3/4 sleeve or a cap sleeve. These dresses will work great in fall with a simple change in accessories. We took our Birdie dress in navy and added booties and a cardigan for daytime. For night, a light wrap and a statement necklace will dress it up perfectly and keep you warm.
Accessories and creativity can really make the difference between feeling drab about your closet and feeling like you just went shopping. Try pairing fall pieces like scarves and boots with dresses or skirts that you normally wouldn't think to wear them with. You may surprise yourself and end up with some really great new looks for fall!
